JOB TITLE: Radiologic Technologist

Position Reports To: Radiology Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Radiologic technologist performs quality Radiographs for interpretation by Radiologist.  These include routine fluoroscopy and urological exams.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

53538752. Perform proper films requested by physicians that are suitable for interpretation.
53538753. Assist Radiologist in obtaining above.
53538754. Familiar with department routines, supplies and general operation of department.
53538755. Must be able to use all equipment.
53538756. Inform supervisor of supply and service needs.
53538757. Perform other duties as assigned.

MENTAL APPLICATION:

Most work is by established policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Any error in judgement could lead to patient complaints, physician complaints and possible legal issues.

CONTACTS:

High patient contact.  High contact with co-workers.  Must have good customer service skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Radiology department. Adequate lighting. Heavy equipment usage. Average amount of noise.
Stress level medium to high.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

All radiologic equipment, dark room, Laser Imager, IV, Computer, Typewriter.

EDUCATION:

  • Required:
    Required: High school diploma/GED; ARRT; Advanced State License
EXPERIENCE:

  • Required:
    Registry eligible
  • Preferred:
    1-2 years experience R.T.
ABILITIES:

  • Required:
    Good radiography skills, good customer service skills, professional
    caring attitude.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Work involves varied activities which include standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. The job calls for manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are both required.
