CT/MRI Technologist

JOB TITLE: CT/MRI TECHNOLOGIST
Department: CT/MRI
Position Reports To: Radiology Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:

Works directly with the Radiologist, ordering physicians and patients. Reviews scheduling, supplies, and the daily operation of CT/MRI. Reports any concerns or problems to the Radiology Supervisor.

TASKS:

  • Scheduling of patients, scanning patients and patient charges.
  • Reviewing and ensuring the quality and the quantity of exams.
  • The daily routine, trouble shooting patients and equipment. Making sure the patient gets the right prep, the right exam in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • None

CONFIDENTIALITY:

  • All patient information is confidential.
MENTAL APPLICATION:

Making decisions on every patient seen based on patient history and condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Almost every thing performed is a judgment call, based on the individual patient. Wrong decisions could lead to the test being performed incorrectly.

CONTACTS:

Contact with patients, family members, and co-workers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Can be a stressful position and demanding. Long hours may be possible.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

CT scanner, MRI, scheduling – X-Ray system

EDUCATION:

  • Required:
    High School Diploma or GED
    Florida License
    Certification ARRT
  • Preferred:
    ARRT, CT registry, MRI registry
EXPERIENCE:

  • Required:
    Two – three years CT/MRI experience
  • Preferred:
    Same as above
ABILITIES:

  • Required:
    Must be able to deal with each case and make judgment calls for each one.
    Ability to handle stressful situations and work together as a healthcare team.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Work involves varied activities which include standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. The job calls for manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are both required.
