About Gessler Clinic

Dr. Ivan Gessler and his two partners, Newell J. Griffith, M.D. and Charles T. Parks, M.D., formed Gessler Clinic in January 1957. Over the span of forty-four years, Gessler Clinic

has grown in structure, personnel and physicians, who bring the expertise of their specialties.

The main facility at 635 First Street, North, in Winter Haven, is now comprised of approximately 54,000 square feet and provides medical and surgical care in virtually all areas of medicine including Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Infectious Diseases, Orthopedic Surgery, Allergy/Immunology, Rheumatology, Medical Oncology, General/Thoracic/Vascular Surgery, Colon-Rectal Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, and Otolaryngology.

Obstetric and Gynecologic services are provided at the Women's Division of Gessler Clinic, a separate location on Central Avenue, Winter Haven, as well as a satellite clinic in Sebring, Florida. Pediatric services are provided at the Children's Division of Gessler Clinic, also a separate facility, located at Avenue C, N.W. Winter Haven. Gessler Clinic's Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center was opened in January 1992. The Orthopedic Division located at Avenue D, N.W. was added to the above mentioned divisions in July of 1995.

The main facility provides extensive diagnostic services. These services include conventional and fluoroscopic x-ray studies, bone densitometry, computerized axial tomography, mammography, ultrasound and nuclear radiography studies. In-house laboratory facilities provide chemistry toxicology, urinalysis, hematology. immunology and microbiology. Non-invasive cardiography, holtor monitoring, stress testing, carotid, cardiac and peripheral vascular Doppler studies and nuclear cardiography are available as well. An open MRI was installed in the fall of 1999.

Approximately 1,000 patients pass through the Clinic on a daily basis.

Gessler Clinic expanded its physical location in February 1997 with the purchase of an adjacent building that provides another 15,000 square feet of space to accommodate the growing number of professional staff to the group that currently numbers forty-six physicians. This facility, the Gessler Annex, houses the Pain Management Center, Allergy/Immunology, Dermatology, Podiatry, Internal Medicine, Pulmonology and Endocrinology services.

The goal of Gessler Clinic is to provide quality services in an efficient and expeditious manner to the greater Winter Haven community. As the needs of this area expand, so shall the staff and facilities of Gessler Clinic.
